It tends to promotes fear which has been a method used for centuries to keep order. And over the past 10 years an average of 40 prisoners are executed yearly. But it also could be quite costly. The death penalty is 10 times more expensive than a life sentence. One side might say that peace and safely are worth the cost and that it is for the sake of the people. It may give them peace of mind which could keep them focus on their lives. Some debate if the government justified to be able to choose whether someone lives or die. What is right path to choose when deciding whether to support it or not. Well in my opinion, Capital Punishment goes against morals. How could the the government be given the power to play god with criminals. Is life that disposable too them. It is not justifiable to takes someone 's life, it would be no different from what criminal did. A horrendous act being punished by yet another horrendous act is not logical. Also this law goes against the country 's constitution that we are sworn to follow. When people thought it was wrong to electrocute someone to death they simply changed their methods to a lethal injection. They made it seem that at least they died peacefully to make public more acceptable over it. It had only sugar coated the uglynest of the whole thing. And in all the process to execute someone instead of imprisoning them cost ten times which come out of the taxpayers pockets. Why would they make us fund such a terrible law. I had stated before that by erasing the problem gives people peace of mind, they are just running from your fears and people are being executed because of that. Not to mention that this law had flaws that should be taken into consideration. Most of the criminals who were executed consisted of people who could not fund their case and racial minorities. So the system itself did not work. Also the cases where people were falsely accused and had not given enough time to be proven innocent. So the wrong people were being punished for no reason. That is why i believe that capital punishment un constitutional and morally

The United States incarcerates its citizens at a higher rate than any other country in the world. For decades, more and more prisons have been built, and they have been continually filled. In the current crime and punishment model, the focus is put on making punishments severe enough to deter people from committing crimes. We know that as crime rates have gone down, the prison population has continued to skyrocket. I don’t think enough of the public has a concept how much the death penalty costs to execute.…

Capital Punishment, A Capital NO Capital punishment has a long and gruesome history, regrettably that history is not all in the past. Capital punishment, the practice of putting someone to death as punishment for a crime, is still exercised within fifty-eight countries and thirty-one American states. Although today’s methods of government sanctioned executions are more humane and less violent than our days past; when to be put to death meant to be hanged, flayed, burned alive or worse, it should still be considered by all, as a grave injustice to humanity. If killing is so wrong that it is considered one of the worst crimes a person could commit, why should the government be able to do exactly that.…

If every form of death penalty is at risk of “extreme pain or torture” then no one should have to do die by being executed. Sentencing someone to death denies them the right to life – enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Right(Amnesty). The traditional method of death by hanging was also easily bungled: If the drop was too short, there would be a slow and agonizing death by strangulation; if the drop was too long, the individual’s head would be torn off (Aclu). Absolutely no one should have to die by having their head torn off or by strangulation, and if the death penalty has risks that big then nobody should have to be a victim of this cruel…

Death Penalty The death penalty has always been a very controversial topic to speak about because everyone has their own personal beliefs. The death penalty is to some as a way to severely punish people who have done awful things, now to others it is a kind of cruel and unusual punishment, something that in this country should not happen according to the United States Constitution. In 1972, the U.S. Supreme Court stopped the states from carrying out the death penalty for being racially biased etc. Texas then resumed executions in 1982 and is one of thirty-two states that imposes capital punishment, being by far the most active in killing convicted criminals.…

Capital punishment brings up many ethical issues. Capital punishment is seen in mainly two ways, a cure for society and an illness to society. Influential people such as Martin Luther King and Ghandi said that capital punishment adds to the negative idea that killing is a reasonable solution to crimes, while others such as Presidents Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln believe that it sets an example to criminals to avoid at least major crimes that would warrant the death penalty. Capital punishment wasn 't always seen this way, because people were desensitized to things such as punishment by death, but things have changed now that the human life is much more romanticised. However, each country has a different stance on capital punishment.…

Capital punishment has always been a subject that people normally do not like to talk about because people, especially the government, knows that capital punishment is an unconstitutional cruel and unusual idea. Capital punishment should be used by states to execute a prisoner, given that the evidence that is against them is substantial enough and beyond a doubt calls for a death sentence. Even though capital punishment is rare and slowly decreasing (Source A), the fact that it continues to exist is the general problem with it. Capital punishment itself would go against the 8th Amendment, saying that “…cruel and unusual punishments [would not be] inflicted” and the fact that the American government would overlook this very clear part of the Constitution is very worrisome because they could do this with many other Amendments. In my opinion, capital punishment is unjustified in every way and should not exist because the best substitute for capital punishment is lifetime in prison provided with rehabilitation options for the guiltily…
