The prisoners may feel like failures, just sitting down there their whole life and never making a name for themselves and trying to be something one day. They are afraid of the unknown, maybe they are nervous they aren’t good enough to come out of the cave. They just want to stay where they know everybody and don’t have to worry about a thing. People now days are afraid of failure also. Sometimes people hold themselves back because they are afraid to fail. They just want to feel good about themselves and that they have it all together. Truthfully though, people need to take chances, to make it further in life. People in today’s world and the prisoners will never know what they are missing out on until they come out of their comfort zone and try new experiences. Failure is always in the back of everyone’s mind though, which holds everybody back from their goals. The cave relates back to the modern day world in many ways, like the money, weakness, failure and fear. There are many more, those were just a few. People and the prisoners need to try to avoid setbacks and “shackles” we all need to take more risks and try new experiences. What I have learned from the allegory is, people just need to go with it and try harder than anyone else, even if someone fails, it is just a learning experience for their next try. Do not hold back and do not let other people hold back the goals that could change a
