Fear And Anxiety: A Short Story

Both Zeus and i felt fear towards what would happen if our thoughts were correct, we had to swallow that which we feared so much, so I jumped. For one of the first times in a while I felt it, a genuine fear; Zeus and I both were experiencing the same feeling, dread, but we both knew what needed to be done. I forgot to mention the story; I was in the dells at a quarry, cliff jumping, I was so scared to jump; I felt like I could die if I jumped. So what I did was close my eyes, shut out all emotion, and I jumped; straight off of a 100 foot quarry. I could literally feel the wind violently brushing my skin, I could even count, it took so long; the only thing that was holding me back was but a single emotion, fear.

I feel like i'm mentally in Zeus's shoes, we have the same feeling of fear for what's soon to come and if there was a way to prevent the future from happening. This myth is about Zeus and his fear

My fear is off the charts and i'm thinking of every way to avoid it; but I had to do what Zeus did, I had to confront my fear head on. I'm literally shaking and I see no way out but head on; "what to do?" I say to myself as if I was expecting an answer, but of course i'm left alone with my desolate thoughts, so once more I ask,"What to do?" I count to three and next thing I know i'm plummeting.

Now back to the myth, how does Zeus solve his problem? How does he conquer his fear of what is soon to come? This is how. So there Zeus was, overcome with fear, wondering what to do; he immediately thought to swallow his fear, literally, he swallowed Metis to avoid having his throne overtaken. Sadly however, Prometheus and Hephaeotus smote the head of Zeus, not necessarily saving the child but possibly taking vengeance. the big thing was that Zeus faced his fear and did something about it to overcome it; which is where i feel we
