Interview Context The context of this interview was the over tasking of the employees at FD Plastics. FD Plastics is a small company that has provided color concentrate for plastic injection molding companies for over 50 years. There are three major departments that make up the organization: office, production, and laboratory. There was a major change in the management this year when the vice president left the company. The biggest personal change was my transfer to the customer service department. This change in management and my position change caused me to learn how much we were failing as a company. The new president started a huge renovation in vision, leadership and saved the company from internal turmoil. One of the biggest changes was the joining of roles in the company. There were positions from completely different departments that got joined, some positions were terminated in order to have others take the responsibility, and new positions were made. These new changes felt overwhelming in the beginning, but as months rolled on, it has shown us how much it has dragged the employees down with overbearing tasks. …show more content…
It has taken 3 months for him to admit defeat. The combining of five positions had always been proposterous in his mind, but he is a hard worker who has dealt with every position for a number of years in his experience in the plastic industry. The president took this experience for granted. Paul has the lucky position in the company which one thing he does wrong will end up being a big problem in another position. I put in an order and had him check on inventory, but he was burdened with a production schedule to fill, inventory to check, and raw materials to purchase. If he does not check on my order then I cannot confirm with the customer which cannot happen, but he had to run a production schedule or else colors cannot be produced. He must disappoint one
