Boom! The bullet shot through the air. My legs automatically bolted forward to the sound. It was the start of the 800 meter run, my favorite. While I was running I looked behind to see Lily, my best friend, a few feet behind me. She was a exceptional runner, just not a great sprinter. The second I turned back around, I heard a laugh and a fall to the ground. It sounded as if boxer threw his opponent against the ring. I spun around just in time to find Sarah sprinting past Lily, who was now on the ground with a huge bruise on her left knee. I knew I should’ve stopped, but I crossed the finish line instead. The instant my feet touched the red marked line, I ran back to help Lily.
“Oh my gosh are you ok?” I asked frantically.
“Yeah, I..I’m fine.” Lily uttered, even though I could tell that she was not fine at all. As I helped her off the ground, Sarah came walking over with a gold medal around her neck.
“Oh my goodness Lily! That was quite a stumble. I just hope you don’t do it again in the Jr. Olympics.” Sarah sneered. Lily’s face was so

Olympics. Today will be all about these 10 outstanding kids running the 800 meter dash. Racers, please head to your lines!” Lily ran up beside me as I walked over to the track.
“Oh my gosh I am so excited, but also super duper nervous, how about you?” She squealed.
“I am so excited too! It is going to be a great race!” I exclaimed.
We both separated walking over to our lines and I was confident I was going to try my best, and whatever happened, I will always be proud of myself for making it this far.
“Oh great,” I thought in my head as Sarah walked towards me, “I forgot that Sarah gets to run right next to me.”
She stood there talking with her friends bragging about how she was going to win gold, just like every other
