Faucet Aerators Save Water

Improved Essays
Is too much of a good thing bad? Water is an important resource that we use in our everyday life. However water is a limited resource. Installing faucet aerators, reusing your water bottles, and even turning off the faucet when you're brushing your teeth can save enormous amounts of water.
Installing faucet aerators has many benefits. Not only do faucet aerators save water, but they are cheap and easy to install. Faucet aerators work by limiting the water that comes out your faucet at a time. Often faucets have a high water rate that might not be needed for the task the appliance often does. For example, your sink has a high water rate. Yet the only use the

sink for washing your hands and washing off your tooth brush. So while you do those things

You're wasting all that water and spending thousands of dollars when you could have spent a few dollars on an aerator and save a lot of money and water. A great way to tell if your faucet has a water rate that is too high is to place a one gallon bucket under your faucet and see if your faucet can fill it up in under 20 seconds. If your faucet fills the bucket up, then the water rate is too high. ("Loudoun")\\
Another great way to save water is by reusing the same water bottle. You might be thinking, how can reusing the same water bottle save water. But the truth is each plastic water bottle takes seven liters of water to make ("9"). So if you were to use a new plastic water bottle everyday for a year you would be wasting 2,520 liters of water. Another plus is you don't have to buy a full case of water bottles every time you run out, which saves money.
A final, and probably most easy, thing you can do to save water is, turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth. For some people it's a habit to leave the faucet on while brushing your teeth. But just think of it like this, leaving on the faucet doesn't make your teeth

There are two main viewpoints on any environmental issue, the modernist perspective and the neo-traditionalist perspective. The two perspectives greatly contrast each other, as they take completely opposite sides of the argument in any environmental issue. This was represented in the lecture by Professor Mark Boyer about Considering Environmental Values. For the purpose of this essay, I will specifically be talking about the issue of Climate change, and how both perspectives view this environmental issue. The modernist perspective consists of the optimists, they conclude that our continuous technological advancement is key to future success and will bring about solutions to any problems.…
