There are several suggestions made for interventions that are beneficial for the involvement of fathers in the lives of their children. Early identification of paternity, fathers’ involvement in the early years, activity-based programs for fathers and children, programs involving fathers and others, and context-specific interventions. (Richter, et al., 2012) These interventions can help the father to become more involved within the lives of their children, which will be beneficial for all involved. However these interventions are not the only way to make the situation better. Programs and interventions that focus on both policy and structural factors are needed.
