Fatherhood's Influence In Children

Have you ever looked at children or even young adults and wonder why they make certain decisions, and then ask yourself where their parents may be? According to fatherhood.org every one and three children live in father absent homes. It has been proven that children who have both parents in their household tend to do much better in most aspects within school, society, and also within their self-confidence. When dealing with children who lack confidence in themselves, it tends to stem from feeling a lack of being loved. For example, I interviewed a classmate of mine named April. The website stated that “ teenage girls with present fathers are then likely to become married and not complete college(http://www.nownys.org)” . I found this shocking mainly because if you read articles it would most likely state that it would be caused to those women not having fathers and that is what lead them to making such poor decisions. That then leads to the conversation of how growing up with a single parents comes up. There are some cases where children can grow up with a single parent and become very successful and then there are those who fall short and give up on themselves.
