People all around the world currently find themselves out of work with little to no options. Anthony Beauford was homeless, working difficult and dangerous jobs off the streets. He was looking for a more sustainable way to improve his living situation and he found the Central Detroit Christian (CDC). From there over three years he grew into a hardworking man with a paycheck. In this essay, Fagan is observing the life of a man named Mike Dick, who is a homeless man in San Francisco. Part I: Overview and Describe the event/interview For my Advocacy report I chose to visit a Coalition group known as Inner Voice, Inc. The Inner Voice, Inc. was established in 1984 by Reverend Robert Johnson with the goal of delivering Chicago's homeless people with the necessary resources to become self-reliance. The Inner Voice incorporation provided overnight housing to individuals along with hot meals clothing and a safe haven. Founder Reverend Johnson believed people should be helped regardless of their situation and that individuals are worthy of support in finding housing in Chicago. With the radical shift in consumer consumption methods for media, the National Geographic Society, founded in 1888, had to make the big leap into the 21st century. John Fahey had to create a new mission that modernized the core mission of the NGS: the latest mission was to “inspire people to care about the planet and its people”.
