Free Will or Fate
People can influence others, despite the fact that they can achieve the goal of persuading people into thinking another way, oneself is not force-fed into making any actions that one decides to make. Everyone is born with free will, sometimes a person can not control what happens, but they do have control over the choices they aim to make. The choices one makes practically determines their fate. Macbeth made some poor decisions and let people influence him and that led to his ultimate downfall. Macbeth retains free will, although at times he allows the witches and even Lady Macbeth to persuade him, he is the reason for his own fate and downfall. Is the human race puppets on a sting?

Is it safe to say that the witches just wanted to corrupt the divine rights of kings? Yes the audience can perceive that the witches want to appoint Macbeth as king when they say “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to/ thee, Thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” (Shakespeare I.iii.48-50). The witches make these statements that excite Macbeth and builds a desire to make this come true. But again, they only speak the words of it happening, they did not make him kill the king. This came from his own actions and ambitions to be royalty. Some will argue that the witches had control over him and the alternatives he had. The real reason why Macbeth became unhinged and continued to kill people isn’t because the witches had control over him but strictly the fact that he couldn’t handle the pressure from killing King Duncan. Macbeth was supposed to be a loyal servant to the king that he murdered violently, and because doing so he grew further and further away from all human impulses. Macbeth lost control over himself and lost his identity as a person, and no matter what he did it was going to haunt him for the rest of his days until death. Macbeth is just a man who became evil by himself, the witches just opened the window that he chose to climb out of. The witches aspirations were achieved as soon as Macbeth killed Duncan. Everything that occurred after this action would be a lagniappe to the witches for the divine right of kings has been
