Destiny, sometimes called fate, is an established set of events telling someone's future. The famous play “Romeo and Juliet” inscribed by the marvelous Shakespeare is a wonderful example of “star crossed lovers” and their fate. Throughout the text it is clear to see that the two are meant to be. From the Prologue to act 5 scene 3. it is obvious that no matter what the lover’s do, or how much they love each other, their relationship is simply doomed by fate. Fate cannot be beaten nor conquered, it is the determination and fight against it in order to be together that determined the true character. Through life or death, they kindled a passion for that love, because.of this their love is eternal. “O Fortune, Fortune, all men call thee fickle ;If thou art fickle, what dost thou with him That is renown'd for faith?” This is a quote of Juliet in line 60 of act 5 scene 3. Because such a young person like herself was put in such a difficult situation. It seems that Juliet seems she is at the mercy of fate. Both Romeo and Juliet knew throughout the story that their destiny controlled their future.

They decided it would be best if they kept their love secret. The secrecy of their relationship later led to them getting married quickly. Since Juliet was already married, she obviously couldn’t marry Paris, at the same time she couldn’t tell her parents why because her true love was the enemy. Soon after Mercutio was slaughtered by Tybalt leading to the death of Tybalt and Romeo’s banishment. I think that the “fate” in all of this is the emotion of all of the characters. Nevertheless the exception of the letter sent about Juliet's fake death, just not arriving on time, the fault lies within the emotions of the characters. There is no coincidence that they they felt this way, It was the work of predetermined
