Here's what I think, "star-crossed lovers are torn apart by fate". I believe that Romeo and Juliet's love story is one that was not destined to be. Shakespeare refers to the two young ones as "star-crossed lovers", which means two with affectionate love for one another but soon end is some type of tragedy. Being Romeo and his wife being star-crossed lovers, fate also played a role in preventing them from being together. Fate is the series of events beyond a person control, it's like something the universe already planned out. Romeo and Juliet fell in love but at first sight, they should have known that is was not meant to be. There was something preventing them to be together, this was the family feud that kept them apart. In the storyline …show more content…
Star-crossed lovers are meant to be, that what makes the "star-crossed". Romeo and Juliet's family were rivals, so for them to think that it was going to be okay to be happy together and get their happily ever after was bizarre. A quote from the play reads " A pair of star-crossed lovers takes their life, whose misadventured piteous overthrows. Doth with their death bury their parent's strife." The quotes mean that the feud between the families ended due to the deaths of their children. The Capulets and the Montagues had to experience a devastating tragedy before settling a dispute with one another. In my eyes, everything that Romeo and Juliet went through was already destined to happen. The universe already had their love story written, they were just waiting for them to make the initiative to make it come to life. The Capulets dance was Romeo's and Juliet's fate. Romeo first glance at Juliet at the dance sounded like love at first sight to me. He says "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight for I never saw true beauty till this night." He went to the dance because he was heartbroken over Rosaline but as soon as he seen Juliet he fell head over heels for her. This was perfect timing because Juliet was in search of a husband & Romeo happened to be the first one to catch her
