Fate In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

In Shakespeare's story “romeo and juliet” he discusses how love and fate play a huge role in a person's life and how it can affect others around that person. One of the main topics shakespeare uses is fate, he shows many examples of fate throughout the text, showing that no matter the choices people make fate will always determine the outcome. Readers can see that fate had the biggest role in the play rather than the choices they made because fate always found a way to intervene and cause problems. In the beginning of the play one can see how fate pulled romeo into going to the party and how it caused other events later in the story. One of the first examples of fate one can see that makes him go to the party and end up meeting juliet is how rosaline just broke up with him. If rosaline would not have broken up with him he wouldn't have gone to the party because that's what he is originally going for. At the party Romeo just happened to catch juliet's eye which is “love at first sight” which made them fall in love and meet each other later at the party. If she would have came in a minute later or earlier they wouldn't have met eyes and fallen in love. During the party lord capulet and tybalt saw romeo amd tybalt wanted to fight romeo but lord capulet stopped him because romeo is a “respectable man” and he didn't want to interrupt the peace at the party. One could infer that if lord capulet saw romeo with juliet he may have done something because he wouldn't want them to be together. In conclusion one can see that if not for these reasons romeo and juliet would probably not have fallen in love or romeo could have died if lord capulet had told tybalt he could kill
