Fastest Way To Cool A Soda Essay

It’s a hot, summer day and a soda is the perfect thing to quench your thirst. You come inside and notice they are all at room temperature. What would be the fastest way to cool a soda? There are multiple factors that could effect in this equation. Would it be faster to put it in the refrigerator where the cold air would achieve the soda’s desired temperature, would ice cool it faster, or maybe an ice and water bath would do the trick? There are multiple ways to test this experiment, but only one way to find out. There are a couple different ways how cold temperatures can remove the warm air from the lukewarm soda. Some people may propose that the refrigerator will cool the fastest because they think that since there are more molecules present, it will cool faster. Others may recommend that freezer would do better because the molecules are colder, therefore less spread out. Although, the air molecules from the refrigerator and freezer must cover a bigger area of space which means that those air molecules are going to be less dense. When using only the ice cubes the molecules are going to be closer together which will increase the molecular count onto the soda. This should also help it cool the soda faster. Whereas, that molecules of a cold liquid mixed with ice cubes are more compact which makes it a more dense of a substance. This may give an advantage to the ice water. Because it is the most dense, it means the molecules are closer together. This also means that more molecules are coming in contact with the soda. That is why others may suggest that the ice water would make the soda cool the fastest
