Fastest Reaction Time

Problem or Question:
Who has the fastest reaction time in our group?
Hypothesis:
If Maasilan, Tanveer and I are tested, I think I will have the fastest reaction time. This is because I have the biggest hands in the group, which makes it easier for me to grab the meter stick. I also have good reactions because I play lots of sports that involve catching or throwing. I also have good concentration and focus which helps so that when the person drops the stick, I know when to catch the ruler.
Materials:
• Meter Stick
• Pencil
• Notebook
• A small group of people
Procedure:
1. One person hold a meter stick out in front of them, hands fully stretched. The meter stick is held vertically and at 0 cm.
2. The second person places

A different member of the group must measure the distance from the bottom of the meter stick (0 cm) to the bottom of the catcher’s hand. Record the measurement in your notebook.
5. Repeat the process three times for each group member.
6. One complete, find the average for each person in the group. The person with the highest average is the person with the fastest reaction time.

Observations:
Qualitative- I saw that most of the members in our group caught the meter stick fairly close to the end. This was good because it meant that the members in our group had average or above average reaction times. I also felt that the meter stick was hard to grab at first, but with each turn it got easier. At one point, my hands got sweaty and the meter stick slipped through my hands.
Quantitative- I saw that most of the measurements in our group were fairly low. Some of the measurements we got were 0, 2.4 and 0.5. This was good because it proved that our group had excellent reaction times. Once we calculated the averages, I saw that our group did very group. My average was 0, Maasilan’s average was 5.96 and Tanveer’s average was 3.66.
Results:

(The results are based on the average)
• I know that my average is 0, Maasilan’s average is 5.69 and Tanveer’s average is

As a small group of the class, we were put together to test one person's heart rate, temperate and breathing rate of the group. By this the subject (person doing the test and being monitored on) would be doing the harvard step test. The harvard step test was simple and effective to do to find out the heart rate, breathing rate and body temperature. In the small groups, we decided to do the experiment on stairs so the subject would simply step up one step and then step down again, and they would repeatively do this for 5 minutes, rest for 5 and then do it again another 2 times.…

When the class ran the grip strength test they had to take a few things into consideration: age, gender, and dominate hand vs non-dominate hand. My hypotheses is that men will have a stranger grip strength compared to woman no matter what their age is. Conclusion The hypothesis for how 80’s music would make it harder for the participants to focus was accepted. The data used from the experiment that supports the hypothesis was the different genres of music that each participant listened to, one of the genres of music was 80’s music and the participants that listened to 80’s music had a harder time focusing on the worksheet and got more time for the trials with music than without music. I think the results came out the way they did is because when your doing a math worksheet especially basic multiplication you have to be able to think hard. Trying to think hard while listening to music isn’t easy.…

Introduction Strength is an abstract parameter that consists of many variables that can potentially influence the amount of force being exerted with certain individuals. In another word, strength represents the ability of extortion or endurance. Grip strength is subject to many health concerns and body mass index are few of the factors that could potentially influence the strength of individuals. And that throughout many studies gender and age correlation with grip strength could range from no significance to no relationship at all. There is a wide range of disparity in determining the influence gender could potentially have on grip strength (Massy-Westropp, Nicola M., et al., 2011).…

Introduction Attention is a complicated concept that refers to what information in our environment is processed. According to many psychologists, objects in the world are only processed if our attention is focused there, meaning many objects can be missed. One phenomenon that explains why we ‘miss’ certain objects is due to inattentional blindness. Inattentional blindness is where attention is focused on a certain task and unexpected objects that appear in our visual field may not be noticed due to our attention being elsewhere. Inattentional blindness can be observed when participants are asked to pay attention to one task and an unexpected object is placed into their field of vision whilst completing the task, if they do not see this object…
