FastCat should compare themselves to other companies with similar location. Also, companies that FastCat felt were similar and passed a rate of similarity in job structure of 50% were selected for further investigation. Furthermore, FastCat compared their position with other companies from different sizes and industries. Now if there were a substantial difference, then those sizes of the companies would continue on in the investigation. The next step was to determine of these still selected companies had a similarity of 70% to be considered for the final slot. This led FastCat to compare itself to large semi-conductors, small computer and hardware companies, and large and small software
