Why Do Fast Food Companies Pay Their Workers?

Imagine yourself walking into a fast-food restaurant and seeing a machine take your order instead of a human worker. You order on a machine and pay right there, no face to face contact. In the back of the restaurant, in the kitchen, your hamburger is currently being made by a machine. The machine is not only cooking your hamburger and putting it together. Instead of a human worker carefully making your hamburger, a machine is doing it all. This is what may happen over the years if the minimum wage continues to rise in the United States. Companies are not going to have enough money to pay their workers if the minimum wage rises. Companies are going to have to resort to buying machines to do the work. Current workers at fast-food restaurant are striking so they can earn a higher wage, when in reality they are just giving companies a good reason to purchase the machines. Sanders wants the minimum wage in every state to be increased to $15 per hour. By saying this interesting and enticing statement he gives hope to Americans who are making less then $15 per hour. Many people do not think that there could be any harm done if billion dollar corporations have to pay their workers a fairer wage because it would alleviate them from poverty. This is what politicians such as Bernie Sanders want people to think when they hear him speak. Sanders does a very expectional job at giving speeches, but the way he gives speeches are also very dangerous. When Sanders gives speeches to his supporters, his speaks to the supporter’s emotional side of their brain. Supporters begin to think; why would the government ever be against this if it is going to help people. Most people want to help people, but will it really help people or just end up hurting
