The movie states facts and has a lot of evidence to back them up making them a credible source. I do think they try to trigger your heart at the slaughterhouses, especially with all the chickens in that dark coop. That gets a lot of people 's attention when you show them that sort of horror. For many that has never crossed their mind that their food was raised like that. Many people do picture the traditional farm where animals are free-reined and are grass fed. But this is not the case, I think the movie does a good job of showing how corrupt some industries really are. They also showed what a traditional farmer is like. That was a good move by food inc, they then say that not all farmers are bad. Another part that appeals to pathos is how the cows are raised. Naturally cows want to eat grass because they are herbivores, but they are force fed corn because it makes them get big fast. The movie also shows how if you don 't do something right problems will occur. Just like with the cows if you don 't let them get big off just eating grass, something is bound to go wrong. The program of the cow or whatever animal can be changed but with change, there will always be some form of failure.
