We all love eating little bugs, girls make-up, and house paint don't we? Oh wait, that sounds dangerous and disgusting. well let's put all those together in a hamburger shape, put two buns on it and call it a big mac. Still wouldn't eat it? Well this is exactly what McDonald's does and you eat it every day! This fast food is so unhealthy that it is making us sick, and even slowly killing us, and the fast food industry doesn't even care. All the fast food industry cares about is money and they will kill you, and animals in order to get it.
First of all, how would it feel to be locked in a dark room with barely any space, and be killed after only 6 weeks of living? Horrible right? This is how all of the chickens feel every day. On page 178 it

As these workers that are mistreating the animals are being hurt as well: I guess you could call it karma! On page 187 it says, “Employee killed when head crushed by conveyor.” Employee killed in unguarded meat grinder.” And also “Employee killed by stun Gun”. These workers are being amputated, hurt, and killed very often. They are just trying to make some money and they are being killed, but as long as the industry is still making money then they don't care. These workers are being hurt and slaughtered because so many animals are coming in so fast causing them to work harder and faster, making them less careful. These workers make errors, every one dose, but at the slaughterhouses just a tiny error could kill people, and it could be as simple not cleaning a cow's hide fully. When the cows stand in manure every day, then most likely by the time they come in to be slaughtered they are covered in their own poop, if it's not cleaned off of the cow it could fall into the meat and spread e-coli and other diseases, killing many people on page 196 it says, “Every day in the United States, roughly 200,000 are sickened by something they ate, 900 are hospitalized, and 14 die.” Civilians are being hurt killed by this food just because simply the industry is cheap and wants money so they will give these horrible diseased food to people through fast food

This shows that by eating fast food, people are causing more and more helpless animals to die and suffer. Not only is animal cruelty bad for the animals themselves, it also affects people. Since animals are kept in such a miserable environment, this can lead to diseases passing quickly from animal to animal. If people consume this meat, the diseases will get passed onto them, making them more weak and ill (world-actuality.com). And even though most companies in the food industry use factory farming, fast food companies encourage it more than others.…

"A study funded by the American Farm Bureau Federation found that 95 percent of Americans believe farm animals should be well cared for" (Balk N.p.). In a society where the majority believes in the well treatment of animals, it is not surprising that most are unaware of the unethical practices in factory farms. If the population knew the circumstances placed on the animals such as chaining, crating, burning, dragging and more, all while still alive, there is no doubt that more people would protest and stop eating meat. "You 've got heat stress, rapid growth stress, ammonia stress due to poor air circulation, broken bones from rough handling," says Temple Grandin, an expert in low-stress animal handling facilities and professor of animal science at Colorado State University (Kimble-Evans N.p.). There is no ethical justification of these…

Pollan goes into even further detail, describing to us how the chickens try to eat at each other, rub their breasts against the cage wire until they bleed, just thinking about it is enough to make a person sick. The sad truth about all this is that the businesses are often blind to the damage they are causing. “Customs, culture, ideas about right and wrong all fall away under the pressure to increase production and get a higher return on investment” (256), if they showed these animals mercy than no money would come of it, and we might not even be able to purchase such food. However, eating animals is natural for humans, you could say it’s in our culture but that’s true for most any culture, human beings were born to eat meat, the food industry sees these chickens, pigs, and cows as just food, not as living, breathing…

Fast Food is not responsible for the obesity epidemic increase and Health risks in America. “When filmmaker Morgan Spurlock heard about a lawsuit that two overweight New York teenagers had brought against McDonald's, blaming the restaurant for their condition, he decided to conduct an experiment” (Morales). When we hear about a case involving health problems or obesity, blaming a major fast food company, we feel one of two ways; angry at the consumer or angry at the company. We feel sorry for the consumer who was supposedly wronged and give them sympathy; but how can we give sympathy to someone who is killing themselves one Big Mac at a time, then blaming the people who they knowingly requested it from. there is a huge demand for convenient…

Norcross states, “Most of the chicken, veal, beef, and pork consumed in the US comes from intensive confinement facilities, in which the animals live cramped, stress-filled lives and endure anaesthetized mutilations,” (Textbook, 408). This statement allows the readers to see that what Fred is doing, unfortunately, is not any different compared to what millions of factory workers are doing to factory raised animals, making both equally as wrong. Chickens are one of the most abused animals worldwide. If abusing one type animal is immoral, abusing any type of animal is also…
