Being overweight and obese has become a serious problem in the 21st century. Children in Canada ages 5 to 17 are overweight or obese. With 19.8% being overweight and 11.7% being obese, meaning that almost one third of our children in Canada is obese. There is a great deal of discussion that the marketing of fast food and beverages has a negative effect on kids. Although, how true can that be when children will not understand the advertising part until they are much older? Are the companies that are marketing the food and beverages to be blamed or the people who are feeding our kids to be at fault. Realistically, diet starts at home.
