Nicole and I both put equal amount of time into building our boat. Nicole provided the styrofoam, and popsicle sticks. Nicole helped hold the styrofoam while I was cutting it. She helped stick the popsicle sticks in between the two pieces of styrofoam. Nicole also worked on the boat during her own time.
I provided the propeller and helped put the rudder on the boat. I cut the big block of styrofoam into two rectangular sizes. I sawed them down, so they wouldn’t have any rough edges. I also helped work on the boat during my own time, outside of class.
Nicole and I both contributed to help make the boat, either in our or together in class. We both provided equal amount of materials and helped each other out. We worked very well together and used both of our own ideas.

Then the data from the tests was used to find the efficiency of the boat. Along with the rest of the data, the group found the velocity of each test. In the end, the group was able to figure out the buoyancy of the boat. The main objective for the group was, testing the boat with and without a rudder. The rudder helps the boat go straight. The first test for the boat was without a rudder. This resulted in the boat curving and turning. Since the boat did not go straight, no time was recorded for the first test. In this story, I was at my best when I was working with others towards a common goal. Last January, my Boy Scout Troop partook in the Hopewell Klondike Derby. Our troop constructed a sled for the competition and prepared everything we needed in a long black box. In this derby each team is challenged to pull their sled along a course to several stations in which our boy scout skills are tested. Our team did fairly well at quite a lot of the stations, while we struggled on others.…

Rube Goldberg and Beyond As a High School Physics student in my Junior year, I was placed on a team and asked to build a Rube Goldberg machine. I had seen several YouTube videos on these ball rolling, random ramps, fast moving machines…but were we able to build our own construction marvel for extra credit? Rube Goldberg began his career as an engineer and later to become a American Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist. His vision of taking everyday household items and making them into crazy inventions that helped solve simple problems like ringing a bell, opening a door or moving an object, inspired me that I could create a Rube Goldberg machine.…

Softball versus Baseball in Terms of Speed and Distance There has been, and will for a long time be, much controversy about whether or not baseball players are better, and the sport is more difficult, than softball. If you were to go to a baseball game and then go to a softball game, it would appear that the baseballs are hit harder and farther than the softballs were hit. The two specific fields even differ largely in dimensions: The baseball field being larger than the softball field. There are many things that may contribute to this, such as softball is generally played by females while baseball is generally played by males, the gender difference also means a difference in muscle and strength.…

Throughout the course, I learned different aspects of project management, and skills that can be used in the everyday life as long as involve interacting with other people. In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different.
