Some decades are more remembered than others. Teens may cling to one decade for many different reasons. If all teens were lucky they would have grown up in the 80’s and not the 90’s. Teenagers growing up in the 90’s never experience the big hair, bright clothes, and the great dance music of the 80’s. With that being said, there are many things that make one decade better than the other. Some of those things may include the music, the fashion, and the technology. Fashion in the 80’s was much more wild and fun. Hairstyles in the 80’s for women meant teased curly hair. Women often wore their hair on top of their head in a colorful ponytail. Men often had long mullets that were slicked back with gel. This style of hair has slowly come back into today’s culture, because of its fun look. Clothing also was a big part of the decade. There were often unisex clothes such as Member’s Only Jackets, parachute pants, and Converse chucks. With the big hair and rocking clothes came the crazy and colorful makeup. In the 80’s the makeup was worn to make a statement. Eye shadows, lipsticks, and mascaras all were bright colors like yellow, blue and green. Although the fashion of the 80’s was fun and bright, the fashion of the 90’s was not. Hairstyles that became popular in the 90’s were pigtails, braids, and perms.
