What is fashion photography?
Fashion photography is a particular genre of photography that involves photographing people with clothes or other fashion items usually to help company’s sell their products by making people aware of them. Companies will often get celebrities to wear and be photographed with their clothes so as to make them more popular and desirable to the general public.
There are many professional fashion photographers out there one of the most well-known for decades is David Bailey. The above photograph was of Cara Delevingne that he shot for Vogue Magazine in Australia.
David Royston Bailey CBE is an English fashion and portrait photographer, born in East London on 2 January 1938 and brought up in East Ham. Bailey is arguably one of Britain’s best photographers.
In 1959 he worked as a photographic assistant at The John French Studio. In 1960 he became a photographer for John Cole’s Studio Five, following this he began a career as a fashion photographer for Vogue magazine. David bailey has been around since the start of fashion photography and is still shooting today. …show more content…
Firstly you will need your model the model will then need her hair done by a hair stylist and make-up done by a make-up artist. These people will be co-ordinating with the stylist and the photographer to make sure that the hair, make-up and clothes all work well together and that all that fits in with the theme that the photographer will be shooting her in. during the shoot the hair and make-up artistes will be on the set to make any adjustments as per the photographers instructions. The photographer may also have assistants to assist him with setting up lights and hold reflectors. This is the job that many trainee photographers will
