People need clothes. That is just a basic fact. Fashion designers are the ones that design the clothes that people wear. Designing can be a long process. A design has to be done for an item, pick out the right fabrics and colors, and one may need to put together a sample product to see what it would be like. Without fashion designers, we would not really have clothes to wear. Being a fashion designer is important because they learn to make and design clothes so people can have something to wear. Their duties are what make a fashion designer a fashion designer. Fashion designers generally look at trends and think about what consumers would be interested in, decide on a collection theme, and use computers to create designs. They visit places to find fabric samples and collect fabric and embellishments for the design. They work with others to create prototype designs and present ideas to a creative director or at a fashion show. They also market designs to retailers or to consumers, and oversee the production on their designs. They study trends in to see what consumers have liked in the past. There is a process designers go through to design clothing. First, designers have to research current fashion trends. They can find inspiration for many different things, like nature and their lives. Next, they sketch a design either by hand or by a computer. Then they make the design using cheap materials. After they make the design, they have models try out the designs. The benefits are the good things about the job. The hazards are things that could potentially end a fashion designing career. It is best to think about the positive things about a career instead of worrying about it. Having the right mindset can help a fashion designer. There are plenty of good things about being a fashion designer. They are the benefits of the career. One of the benefits is that as a fashion designer, is a chance to travel often. Designers travel to places like Paris and Milan, which are known for being the “fashion capitals.” Designers also are able to manage their own time. They can base their own hours on their clients’ needs. A designer that is working full time for a fashion house or other company can receive benefits like health care, more vacation time and sick days, and retirement.
There are also hazards to being a fashion designer. A designer should worry about her job if they are not careful. If a fashion designer goes over budget on a project, they may have to pay for items with her own money instead of the money given to her for the job. Another hazard is the risk of not meeting the clients’ expectations. Not meeting expectations can cost the designer a client or possibly her job. Poor organization is also a hazard. Designers can lose clients or mix up information if they are not
