Some kids play sports in high school. Others march in the band, star in school plays, or join the healthcare career training program. Me, I didn’t do any of those things, because, after middle school, I made the decision to devote my life and career to help better the industry of agriculture in the future. Thus, I didn’t spend my afternoons out on the field or on the stage in high school, I spent mine in barns, animal pens, and classrooms, as an avid member of both 4-H and FFA along with involvement in numerous other programs related to agriculture in the local community. Not trying to brag on myself, although scholarship applications like this are the place to do so, but the accomplishments I achieved in my youth career along with those I continue to achieve have led me to have one of the most decorated resumes …show more content…
I only graduated high school last year, and was able to begin college as a sophomore this year due to the amount of dual enrollment credits I completed while in high school, perhaps the best decision of my academic career. After college, I desire to work in a leadership position utilizing my agricultural communications skills with an agriculture related entity, such as a fair, livestock show, commodity organization, or state association to gain experience in the industry, and advance both my employer and the agriculture industry at the same time. Eventually, I wish to pursue a career as an agricultural educator after I have worked in the industry as a long-term career, to have the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and skills of agriculture to the students of the next
