There are millions of people serving our country fighting for our freedom. The people that do are very brave but sometimes don’t come back themselves. They end up with PTSD and that changes their lives forever it so funny how going to war could change someone physicaly and emotionaly. In Hemingway’s book “Farewell to Arms” he shows perfect examples of how the war can change a persons personality and physical acts.
Frederic Henry was I think most affected by the war and how it changed his character. In (chapter4) Henry meets miss Barkley which this event will make a major impact on his life throughout the story. When rinaldi was by himself when henry left the war for the first time he messed around with all the girls for the same reason Catherine and henry started a relationship. When the war started Rinaldi was in love with Catharine but Henry wanted to be with her to so that the war wouldn’t seem so bad and that mad Rinaldi go back to his old ways by going to the whore house that was located on the base which then gave him gonnarea .
