Good evening parents, classmates, teachers, staff, and visitors. Thank you for coming out and supporting the class of 2016. We are able to be here today because of the help and motivation of our principal, Dr. Sledge, our counselor, Ms. Dechant, and our senior advisors, Mr. Markofski, Mr. Farrell, and Ms. Alderdice. Also, we would like to recognize the scholarship organizations and contributors here tonight for aiding us in continuing our educational path. We are here today because these people believed in us, and made us work for all that we have.

We were mistaken, and we had entered a completely new learning environment. During our first year, we learned quickly how to accumulate to a new responsibility. This was everyone’s first encounter with project based learning, and it was so different than the traditional learning style that we all were accustomed to. Even so, it was a low learning curve, and everyone caught on quickly. Ninth grade year was a blur of great memories, laughter, and adjustment. During that year, one of my great friends, Madison, taught me if you think logically you will encounter problems which you will solve in with your mind in confidence, but when you think with your emotions you will fight with a feeling that will eventually change. As freshman, we were emotional and we acted without thinking, and learning to remain impartial was one of most important lesson to me. Progressing on to tenth grade, we fell into our place and found out how things worked. We began to get serious about our education, and worked on preparing for the SAT and ACT. We were on our way to completely half of our high school education, and we were comfortable with who we were becoming. During this time, we no longer had could use the same excuses we did as ninth graders because we were being held to a new standard. This was the year of trial and error, since we had to really hone in on what to do in life. We were pressured to figure out our …show more content…
We have gone through so much together and have grown closer as a class. Even though, we have had many problems, arguments, and disagreements, we have stuck through it. We have pushed each other to succeed both academically and athletically. Each day we learn more and more, both curriculum and life lessons. I have learned that in my short life, that the key to success is not a test score, grade, or college acceptance. The real triumph comes from taking what you have, and being able to find what makes you happy and living in that moment. We are who we are because of our actions and experiences, and whether they good or bad, they make life the unpredictable, invigorating circumstance that it
