For example, a huge fantasy football fan named Andy Miley, an accountant from Maine, has gone through several girlfriends. Many fans like himself have multiple fantasy football teams that he likes to try to keep track of throughout the NFL season. Because Andy Miley takes a fair amount of time to update himself on the newest changes to his teams, he has nearly no time to go on a date and continue a relationship (Knopper). Even though Andy Miley cannot keep a relationship, another NFL dreamer, David Finch and his wife like the fact that fantasy football is something both spouses show interest in. Thanks to fantasy football this couple says that their marriage has become tighter because of the quality time spent together managing their online team (Finch). Unless both spouses manage their finances carefully during the NFL season, it may be very difficult to keep their strong marriage once gambling gets out of hand online. This man was originally a former investment analyst involved in the stock market, but he decided to drop his job to pursue his dream as a full time fantasy football gambler. Drew notices the opportunities he has in buying players for his online teams when he knows he can make a profit by winning a bet (“Quitting”). Unfortunately, not every person that manages an online football team has the knowledge that a stock investor attains. Most importantly this business as a professional gambler is too risky for the average person. Many participants may not take the insane amount of time like Drew Dinkmeyer does to research for the best NFL players that match the opening positions on a team because maintaining their current job is already difficult. Thus, all the hard work one has put in for deserving their current job can be wiped away within seconds if fantasy football takes over as the new priority in life.
