Comparing the Theme of Fangirl and Alex Approximately

The theme is the main grasp of a story or the main draw point that attracts everybody deeper into the subject. For numerous people, they take the theme of many stories into their own lives, enhancing it, adding more to it, while living by it. However, for some, they take the theme into deeper deliberation and process the knowledge that was told to them through the words on the page. For me, I am the second type of person, which is why I noticed that these two books, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Alex Approximately by Jenn Bennett, have a great theme that blares out at you. The theme that stuck out to me was, "Life may not be leading you on the path you planned. But, in life, it is okay to take a detour." The first book that I will be comparing the theme to is Fangirl. The theme of taking a detour really relates to this story considering it is all it ever goes on about. For Cath, her life was all set and based – go to a great college, pass Professor Piper’s Fiction-Writing Class, and have no interferences along the way. However, when Cath’s twin sister, Wren, decides that she does not want to room with Cath, Cath’s life takes a turn. This book draws you in from the start, as its words seem to be enchanting you will Cath's life. Then, you realize everything is not as it seems.
