It was three in the morning, which wasn’t really different from any other night, for April Savige, anyway. April, for some reason, loved staying up late, even though she usually had to get up at six thirty. What she loved staying up for was something lots of people would call pointless: fanfiction. Fanfiction was a type of writing fans of a work wrote instead of the real creator of the work. No one knew who the ‘creator’ of fanfiction was, but a few people had… guesses. “Oh my gods, Perce, you are unbelievable!” April whisper-yelled at her screen. She would’ve actually yelled at the screen if she didn’t still live with her parents at the age of twenty-one. “Holy Hades, this comment is lit!” April silently laughed at the comment that was plastered …show more content…
May, knowing the spot like the back of her hand, asked April to send a picture of where she was. April was in a grove of palm trees, which provided shade to the scorching sun, even though it was only March. It was twelve o’clock on the dot when April saw May walk in. Honestly, she was expecting some 40-year-old man to walk in there, which is why she chose to meet up in the middle of the day. When she saw the girl she had only seen on the screen, her stomach started doing flips. She was nervous, anyone could tell. But, she also had a small crush. Just a small one. As she looked into those celeste eyes and that lopsided, yet shy, grin, she could feel her face heating up. Albeit pointless, she tried to push the feelings down. Greetings were exchanged, both were pretty relieved that the other wasn’t fake- you couldn’t be too careful with the internet- and talked all the way into the night, which worried April’s parents, she had found out when they split up for the night. After explaining, April was in deep trouble, that was certain, but her parents were relieved that was at least a real person whom she was talking
