Will never thought of anything other than his popularity. At the beginning of the story, Will didn’t care about anyone other than himself. For example, he was fake to everyone. Going further, he didn’t consider his “friends” friends. He acted like he really liked a girl but in the end you can guess that he is only dating people for popularity. Secondly, he is living a lie. As he lays on the ground, blood dripping from his face, he realizes the bully he had been, the dirt he was. For example, when the only three people that joined his team were three girls who hadn’t had their hearts broken by him and a foreign exchange student, he realized he wasn’t the king he thought he was. Adding on, he realized his bad reputation. As he stared into the crowd at the fight, he realized that all these people against him, he had hurt. Maybe those girls are still hurt from heartbreak. Maybe those boys had experienced him being a fake friend. Finally, Will lost his title. He had wandered around school being the king, and now, he’s known as the boy who started a fight he didn’t win.
