The Famous Brands Company is a public company listed on the JSE and it is a restaurant franchisor. The company is situated in South Africa and South Africa has some problems in the political environment. The political environment is where the actions which the government take have the ability to affect the business or company. My topic today is how could the political environment of South Africa affect Famous Brands as a company.
The political environment has the ability to change results and can also make the business or company be on their way to a loss. One of the factors which can impact the business is tax policies including rates and incentives. If the government increases tax which businesses and companies need to pay it will affect the company because they will have to bring changes in order to have the funds to pay that tax. The change in the interest rate is another political factor which can affect the company. For Famous Brands company to be aware that the changes in the political environment can affect the company they should always stay up to date with the political factors.
There are factors in the political environment which can affect the company such as the freedom of the press. The press has freedom to say whatever they want to say and this can affect Famous Brands because if the press decides to denigrate the company through the media this will create a negative public image for Famous
