Family Values
Nostalgia for the 1950s is real and deserves to be taken seriously, but it usually shouldn 't be taken literally. (pg.33 of What we really miss about the 1950’s)
Growing up in a two parent household who base their parenting abilities on what the Bible has to say, can relate a lot to being in the 1950s. It has a lot of the same values work hard, love unconditionally, and don 't sin. Today’s society with all the electronics that we have makes it very difficult to get tasks accomplished. My parents have stressed in all of us kids to work hard for what we want. That they will help us get to that point but once we are on our own then they will step back and let us make all the choices that affect our lives.

Am I saying that there will not be any hard trials, no absolutely not. When doing the right thing challenges will always seep through. This world does not have much of these values nowadays and when there are a few that have these qualities they outshine the rest of them, and tend to go farther in life. They have more ambitions for themselves because they have a taste of what success really is. Also people that are not raised with these values still have a great chance at thriving it will just take a lot of passion and grit to beat the flesh of what they were raised as.
Just because people are raised with good values does not mean that they will follow the path of doing right from wrong. It takes a lot of courage to out-stand laziness I know that even I struggle with being lazy on a day to day basis because it is so much easier to take the lazy way out. But when someone is there to hold you accountable to high standards, it is a lot easier to do simply

I know that with the core values that they have bestowed me with I will continue to grow as an individual. As well as succeed in anything that I set my standards upon. I know that I am incredibly blessed to be raised in a two parent home rather than a single parent home. I know many friends that are in a single parent family which is very hard nowadays to maintain a job as well as care for their children.
Something also to keep in mind is racial values I know that my very good friends from church that are colored have a lot different lifestyle compared to myself. For example their parents do not put up with anything, and I mean any nonsense. They call their elders by sir and ma’am because if the parents hear anything other than that it is disrespectful. Over all everyone has a different set of family values in their life. God made many different personalities for a reason because without differences we would all be robots.
I am so grateful to know so many different ways of family values that I can not wait to make my own family values for my kids. So that they hopefully turn into well mannered children that are respected in the community because they treat everyone with respect. I think one major family value that I think every family revolves around is respectfulness. It goes to show how “treat others the way you want to be treated” really goes for

Everyone has the freedom to do everything even though children also have the freedom to decide their career and choose what school they want to go. The child’s first teacher is their parents who will teach everything that they know for their child, and they share their experience that they have been through in their own lives. “When we bear children’s pain without dismissing it, they learn that something can hurt, but that they can handle it. If we rescue children from feeling pain by fighting their battles for them, they will not learn to stand up for themselves” (Cohen). Parents should teach their children how to face the problem, and not cede their work to other people.…

Hence, even though we are in the low class, we still can get what we want by working hard. Janny Scott and David Leonhardt stated that “… But if you persevere, you can overcome adversity. It has to do with a person’s willingness to work hard, and I think it’s always been that way” (4). It means no matter what level we are, no matter what the circumstances are, hard work can always help us all go on. Social adversity may cause lower people to lose their talents and limit their development because they do not have a lot of opportunities to show themselves.…

The people that say that multitasking is actually a good thing think that it 's because you can get more things done at one time. However, those tasks won 't be done accurately or properly and could lead to worse results. In addition, the time put into trying to do more at once could be reduced be doing it one at a time. Judi Casey, a former Director of The New England Work and Family Association, says "we are often multi-tasking, so its very difficult to restrict ourselves to a single point of focus and think creatively" . Our mind cannot fully pay attention to more than one thing at once no matter how hard we try.…

Also, I learned although you may have always been raised to help others out and to be nice to everyone. There comes a time when you have to know your limits and just have to bit the bullet and put yourself in front of others. One last thing was when working for your own money, although it may be hard and not really worth it at times, in the end, its always better have your own money rather than spending your parent’s money. Things seem to be better when paying for them with your own, hard working money. Although these lessons were not very evident to me after they happened, with time they became more clear to me and have made a big impact on the way I live life…

As we go on in having our selfishness we also have problems in terms of willingness to participate and cooperate with each other without asking anything in return. This philosophy is the ideal thinking. Most people thought of refusing to accept that this saying was impossible to proclaim with. The only difference would be, either that purpose should be expected as a personal gain or for a bigger picture that in the end, more individuals besides yourself will benefit from it.…
