Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when retail companies go into the black instead of the red, they make a profit. The story goes, after an entire year of operating at a loss ("in the red") stores would supposedly earn a profit, then people would go shopping with a full belly on the day after Thanksgiving. They shop from late nights to early mornings. People also have tents and wait outside for many many hours, and wait for a big sale to happen by morning. People also make plans before shopping, it’s a smart idea to do if your going with a bunch of people to a bunch of stores.
My family's tradition is going shopping. We shop from about 8p.m to about 10a.m. We go out with about 20 people every year and just go around shopping. We split up into groups of 4 or 5, then we go around to the best deals at the best stores. We rarely ever camp at stores, or rarely go just to get out of the house. After all the fun is done with shopping, we go out to either IHOP or Bob Evans for a great Black Friday breakfast.
