Family Therapy Benefits

In researching family therapy numerous studies have shown that family therapy is more cost effective. For a family of 5 this would be ideal especially if they can’t afford to send each person individually. I found a study that looked at individual versus family therapy, not only was family more cost effective its outcomes were overwhelmingly successful. According to Russell & Payne (2011) family therapy proved to be substantially more cost-effective than individual, therapy was provided in the fewest sessions, marital and family therapists had the highest success, also the lowest recidivism rates. Therefore, our decision to take on this family should be based on our skills level. As new therapist we should consult with a supervisor, however
