Family
Family is at the core of American life. Irrespective of one’s faith, a deep sense of community is important to all citizens. Homes form the basis of America’s character, where children learn the importance of service, principled values, as well as the necessary standards of conduct. Whether at school, in communities, at work, or play, a family remains the sole source of support, encouragement, guidance, and love that enhances an individual’s level of confidence, compassion, and success (Kim 1). Shared values, such as active involvement in community matters, are all embedded in their culture.
Art and Sports

For a long time, the styles of food preparation in America have been influenced by both Native Americans and Europeans. Today, there are several foods that are commonly considered to be of American origin. “AS American as apple pie,” is a phrase that has been used widely to mean anything that is authentically American. Some of the foods in this category include hot dogs, potato chips, cheese, hamburgers, meat loaf, and macaroni. Additionally, there are certain foods and cooking styles that are unique to a particular region in America. For instance, the southern cooking style is often referred to as “American comfort food” and comprises dishes like fried chicken, black-eyed peas, cornbread, and collard greens. Tex-Mex, a blend of Mexican and Spanish cooking styles is popular in the southwest and Texas and includes items such as burritos and chili.
