Family In The Revenant

The concept of having a family is very important to many people, because to some family is all that they have. Family not only helps one in daily struggles but gives them the strength to keep moving in life. Which is prevalent in the Revenant. Hugh Glass, the main character is put through many difficult challenges and his one fighting drive is his family because all he had was his family. To me family is everything to the point where I would do anything to save anyone of the members. Family allows one to be and grow strong, fight through anything, and it teaches how life can be; I would risk my own life in order to save the life of my parent. The movie starts with Hugh Glass telling his son, Hawk, never to give up on anything no matter the problem. Glass had such a strong bond with his son that he did not care to die after he had gotten to Fitzgerald. However, it was not only the death of his son but also the death of his wife. Glass’s wife kept repeating the same phase throughout the movie, which was “as all as you can breathe you can fight” demanding glass to keep fighting in till his last breath. I have never been put in a situation that required me to fight for mother as hawk did for his father, but that does not happen it does not happen to others. Around the world there are many parents fighting for the lives of their children and their children fighting for the lives of their parent’s. For example, my father knew men that were killed in front of their children back when ISIS first took over Iraq, but did not stop the men that are out there right now fighting for their parents, family, friends, and everything else which is dear to them.
