Family in the Outsiders Family has always played an important part in human’s lives. Family especially played an essential part in The Outsiders. It is what gave the bond to the whole novel and it’s characters. In the novel two types of families were displayed. A type of immediate family and a family through a bond of friends. The reader was more than likely persuaded to believe that one of the major themes of the story was that the family stays together.
