In chapter one of the book “Roll of Thunder,Hear My Cry,” the main family in the book the Logans are different from others in many ways. For starters the Logan's own over four hundred acres which other african american families do not own. Most of the families in chapter one are sharecroppers and the Logans are not they let other people sharecrop on their land. Mrs.Logan is a teacher while most african american women stayed at home to do chores or tend to the house. The white families in the Logans community had school buses while the Logans had to walk over three miles to school. The white kids also had new books while the african american children had old used and worn out books that were marked under the condition of very poor. On page
