Principle #3 - Family Relationships In regard to family relationships, HB 2258 does not directly address any of the issues in principle #3. HB 2258 is strictly a welfare benefit bill, therefore, the topics addressed would not apply.
Principle #4 – Family Diversity HB 2258’s main agenda was redefining the term family, therefore, Family Diversity is well encompassed. The bill strongly identifies and respects the different attitudes, behaviors, and values of families from various stages of life; family structures; and cultural, economic, geographic, racial/ethnic, and religious backgrounds, recognize the complexity and responsibilities involved in caring for and coordinating services for family members with special needs (e.g., cognitive, emotional, physical), and ensures the accessibility and quality of programs and services for culturally, economically, geographically, racially/ethnically, and religiously diverse
