Family Guy Sociological Analysis

In the art and film industry, almost every genre of movies, literature, music, or other works portray many sociological concepts. Some of these concepts such as stereotypes, religion, education and bullying, and values are included. In the following few television episodes, I will be explaining those three different sociological concepts from the show “Family Guy.” These episodes include“Women in the Workplace”, “Jesus and Religion”, “High School”, and lastly an episode called “ On Values”. In the episode “Women in the Workplace”, the central focus is stereotypes. Some of us may think that a woman and man should have different advantages and disadvantages. When a woman works together with a man and do the same thing it may seem a little bit off, since the stereotype is that a man should be able to do harder jobs than a woman. It’s assumed that a man is also stronger than a women. A guy would feel powerless because working the same job as a female, because it would make them have the same amount of money. Some are born into it and some learn to follow it in their life journey. In the episode, Peter is mad that Lois set the table for the Jews when he follows Christianity. As a result of this, he made her pick her own belief, or his. He wants to live in a house where everyone follows Christianity instead of whatever they choose to believe in. Peter doesn’t want to be with Lois knowing she doesn’t believe in whatever he believes in. So when Jesus came along, he told Peter he’s a Jew and to treat people how he wanted to be treated. People shouldn’t be judged for what they want to believe in. Especially if you’re friends with the person, for example; you shouldn’t make racist remarks and judging their beliefs.
