They both influenced me in different ways, my grandparents are more conservative and my mother is more independent and strong. I’ve learned that I can be a strong, independent, educated women without help from anyone else. I have been exposed to the culture my family grew up with, while living in a different American culture that had different values. This caused some confusion and I had to develop my own views that were independent from my family. I would be able to relate this issue to my ethnically diverse friends who understood the battle of juggling two different cultures. You learn to be thankful of everything you have access to like getting motivation to try your best in school. I am more understanding of others and not so quick to judge or criticize. Your understanding of human beings increases to a different level and you are able to better understand yourself. After taking an Introduction to Psychology class I feel like it will be easier to connect with others because we have learned the building blocks of human behavior. I have learned how to interact with different types of people and how to interpret some of their actions. Over the duration of this course, I have pieced moments from my own life that I never gave a second thought to the course
