This article reports about how the expectations that families had for their children entering kindergarten had changed from the years 1993 and 2007. The research showed that families from 1993 had fewer expectations of their children than those in 2007. Interestingly, families had not changed most of their instructional habits at home. The difference between 1993 and 2007 was having the children go to an educational facility, not just a babysitting service.
