When my grandmother was coming through the educational system the education she obtained was decent but it was still in poor quality due to the poor quality of materials and institutions that the time for her. Also, her parents came from a time where education was viewed as important however the quality was worst and for many families working became a means of survival and education consisted of basic skills that would help in adaptation. During the time that she got her education there was also many things occurring around her that caused some stress on continuing school at that time period. However, in my uncle’s case he was able to contain a better quality education. Since my grandmother and grandfather were both college educated my uncle learned a lot of things at a younger age than compare to when my grandmother was younger. The time period at which my uncle went through school was also more accepting to the newly incorporated concept of desegregating schools therefore, during the time of my uncle receiving his education there lest matters for him to stress over. The experiences of my uncle and grandmother were typical due to the idea that they both were living through times where education was being highly valued than compared to earlier times. By the time my uncle was put through school the education had improved in many ways such as the means of transportation for students and the quality as well as the quantity of school institutions. The atypical experience would be the experience that my grandmother went through during her time in the educational system with the segregation and desegregation taking place. Since this was a point in educational history that was a major turning point it became an atypical part of the educational system because by the time that my uncle came through school that was something that had already took place.
