Family Assessment Examples

For my family project I have had the opportunity to spend some time with a family who has a child with a disability. Callie is a rising fifth grader in her rural elementary school, and enjoys attending each day. But what sets her apart from the rest of her classmates is the fact that she was born with down syndrome, and has an individualized education plan (IEP). In addition to down syndrome, Callie also suffers from epilepsy. I got to spend a good portion with this family and see first hand how they interact with each other and also how they handle Callie and her exceptionality.
