The artifact that i chose was the family and community resources chart we did in ECD 205. I chose this artifact because I thought I did a good job on making this resources chart for family and giving the parents some useful resources that they can use when they are in need of some help. What I learned by making this chart was that it is important to have some kind of chart, brochure, or newsletter that you can passes out for parent who might not know about the different kinds of resources that are available to them for their children and family. Especially with families who are from a different country or don’t speak English as their first language it is important to help them and guide them in supporting their child because all parent want …show more content…
I think that all the artifacts connected because all these artifact have to do with the community, partnering and support system. The first artifact talks about community the microsystem is directly involved including the family, school, and community this connected the artifact to the microsystem because teacher, families and parents have to reach out to get the help they need from the community around them to get the support they need to help their own families and to better support their children in school. The community is a big help and without it their would be no place for teacher, families and parents to turn to in a time of need. The second artifact relates to the ecosystem it said that society’s large systems and policies that affected the development of human being over the course of life such as health, education, laws and economics. This fit perfectly with the interview I did because it was IEP/IDEA which was a law past the give children who has a disability they right to have an education just like all their other peers around them. The IEP ties into the education part mostly because it a plan that help parents, children, teachers and families set goals for their children to accomplish and helps scaffold them up to where they need to be developmentally. The third artifact connects because it fits in both exosystem, microsystem and a little bit in macrosystem. The checklist show a list of things teacher must follow because it is the law that was made to protect children teacher and center have to follow those law in orders to make sure they are keeping all children safe from harmful things. It also could fit in the macrosystem too as a teacher you should value the safely of your children and want to do anything

They all relate to the theme by me, my family, and peers trying to discover their own interest and what they want to do or become. People make up each of the circles, and those people are bound to find something the like to do, which leads to more discoveries of technology, sciences, or themselves. Community, country, and humankind relate to the theme by discovering how they can improve certain problems, or discover and create new technologies in engineering and science. Rebecca Skloot had gone through a quest for discovery, as she was curious of HeLa cells in college and began researching the story behind it, she discovered her interest or a least an interest. The M&M artifact shows the results of a project we did, which include four people opening up a bag of M&M's we picked separated the colors and found out the averages of each color. I created this spreadsheet using a google document, some of the tools I used consisted of gathering data and documenting the data we came up with. After that I color coded the M&M colors by filling in the background and also created a pie chart to show the data we gathered. I could use a project like this in several different occasions in my class any project I do with my students I could have them incorporate a pie chart and collecting data is something we will be doing throughout our school year.
