Familias Unidas is located in California and consists of 18 affordable housing units that serve more than 4,500 low-income families throughout the state. Our work ethic and motivation revolves around our existing mission, which we proudly announce to be: To live up to the core values of the NASW Code of Ethics and honor and empower aspiring communities all in an effort to create lasting solutions to poverty and social injustice. Our program provides case management that consists of assessing, planning, and implementing strategies to prevent homelessness thus, enhancing household stability. Furthermore, our program offers after school services in where children are able to do their homework and receive free tutoring along with translation services

In order to achieve this goal, we need to enhance financial stability by emphasizing on cost reduction and program efficiency. We need to ensure that programs will operate effectively at a minimal cost. We will implement an internship program that will allow students and volunteers to help our clients in receiving services our staff members provide. This will reduce the cost of hiring employees, allowing the organization to utilize funding more effectively. The agency next goal is to increase Familias Unidas efficiency. Since we are losing several members of our organization we need our employees to take on multiple task. We will achieve this goal increasing the training and guidance that will permit our staff members to take on multiple roles within our agency and attend to more clients. Our staff members are the foundation of this organization. We will keep layoffs to a minimum, ensuring employee a set amount of labor hours per week. In addition, we will increase wages and health benefits to our employees and offer competitive raises. Our last goal is to develop a plan that will help us anticipate future budget loss and forecast expected revenues, spending, deficits and surpluses (Zietlow, 1989). Social workers follow a set of ethical principles that are based on six social work core values. These core values include: service, social justice, dignity and worth of a parson, importance of human relations, integrity, and competence (NASW, 2008). Many of the changes to the original budget were influenced by the NASW code of ethic. For example, the core value of “service,” helped us determine to not cut any services from our vulnerable clients. The core value of “competence” helped us established an increased in the amount of funding going to training, ensuring that employees and volunteers have the appropriate knowledge and skills to help our clients. Our entire organization addresses the social issue of poverty and lack of resources that our population experiences, while at the same time also initiating movement and putting into place our services. By addressing current social problems, we are also seeking social justice by advocating on behalf of our
