Familial Tremor

Improved Essays
More than fifty percent of essential tremor cases, also known as familial tremor are caused by genetics. It’s an autosomal dominant disorder, needing only one parent to pass the mutated gene on to the offspring. Sometimes the child is only a carrier with no sign of the condition. Instances where both parents are carriers of the inherited gene raise the risk of a child developing essential tremor.
Age is another factor causing this second most common movement disorder. Electrical fluctuations in the brain, sends abnormal signals prompting a tremor instigating a loss of muscle control. Illnesses like Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors and lifestyle habits of alcohol and drugs can bring about the shaking and loss of balance

The Causes and Symptoms of a Herniated Disc Discs are the cushioning between the vertebras (bones) that make up the spine. Osteogenesis imperfecta is not commonly inherited from family even though that is possible. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, “Most infants with more severe forms of osteogenesis imperfecta (such as type II and type III) have no history of the condition in their family.” OI is caused by some defective genes that affect the body’s ability to form strong bones. Ninety percent of the cases are caused by a dominant genetic defect, which means that the child only needs one copy for the mutated gene to have osteogenesis imperfecta.…
