Paranormal Criminals: Are Ghosts Real Or Real?

Improved Essays
Every child grew up hearing cliche ghost stories, but there’s more to the tales. Ghosts aren’t necessarily silly, fearful beings said to be conjured up. Spiritual energy is very much a real thing and exists in the world today. Incorporeal figures, commonly known as ghosts, consist of residual energy from life that has passed away. The belief of ghosts is almost always seen as an opinion depending on the person. The debate on whether they are real or unreal is extremely common; however, without doubt, they are real (Kopsky). Professional paranormal investigators, The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), have copious proof that these entities do exist. The group was founded by a man named Jason Hawes in 1990. He strived to go about paranormality …show more content…
Infrasound is when a noise of pitch is so low humans can not register it. Low frequency vibrations have been recorded of ghosts, further proving that humans aren’t just allegedly hearing something they didn’t. Mold is another form of proof against the disbelief of ghosts. In nearly every haunted area, toxic molds are found (Kopsky). Common happenings, such as people experiencing negative effects in only certain houses, is yet another form of evidence. Furniture moving, noises being heard at night, feeling cold in a specific area of a room, and being touched by something that isn’t there are examples of common happenings. As for electromagnetic fields, a Canadian neuroscientist by the name of Michael Persinger shared his findings. He found that patterns of electromagnetic fields can create the conscious feeling of not being alone in an empty room. With his experiments, he found that places claimed to be haunted almost always contained these force fields (6 Scientific Explanations). Mediums, psychics, and clairvoyant people are born every day. These people have a contact with spiritual energy from the dead giving them the ability to not only shock people by what they can do, but prove that ghosts exist. A specific medium named Theresa Caputo is one of the best there is. Ever since she was young, Theresa, having a television show, seeings hundreds of clients a year. She …show more content…
The first involved her daughter. Sam and her husband knew that the house they lived in was quite old, and also were aware that the past owners were descendants of Sam’s family. The first sighting was made by Sam. It was only a glimpse of an old woman at first, standing over Sam’s child as she lays in bed. As soon as the woman was there, she was gone. Six months later the couple lay in bed when over the baby monitor they hear their daughter crying. When Sam started to get up to retrieve her, her husband stopped her abruptly. Over the monitor was the distinct sound of an elderly woman singing a lullaby. The child stopped crying and was about to fall back asleep, but not before whispering “Night, night.” Another occurrence for Sam was when she was out of home. She had visited a friend’s house. The friend’s daughter was asleep nearby when suddenly her chest rose. Eventually only the tips of her feet and the crown of her head were touching the floor. Sam and her friend held her down and prayed the spirits away. After twenty minutes, the young girl came back to without knowing what had happened whatsoever. Possession is yet another form of spiritual energy coming in contact with the natural world (Warrington).
Incorporeal figures, spiritual beings, entities, ghosts, or whatever they may be called, are real. With science and with philosophy, evidence has been given. No matter the argument given, ghosts exist and have subsisted

Parapsychology [the study of the paranormal phenomena] is a component of the broader study of consciousness and the mind" (Rhine 1). This explanation describes it as the study of supernatural and paranormal beings we are unable to see, hear, or use any other sense to locate these spirits.…
