False Interpretation And Misunderstanding Of The Bible

When you look at Christian leaders debating indisputable truth attempting to discover new revelation in the Bible they end up with false teachings, false ideologies, false views and counterfeit interpretations. This happened in the OT and NT world, and there is no different today. But is there really a need for Theology? (Erickson, 31). I have asked myself the same question. However, to be honest this is just my flesh talking not my spiritual thoughts. This same concern was addressed by Jesus Christ many time when debating with the Pharisees about their false interpretation and misunderstanding of the Mosaic Law. They defined the bearing of a burden from a public into a private place, the carrying out of a burden from the house, and the lifting up and the put down. Then, they developed another set of rules explaning, what constituted a burden? In order to know exactly what the stumbling block principle is, a stumbling block must be defined as it is used in the Bible. First, in order to understand a stumbling block, “offense” must be defined. Offense within the Bible can be defined in two ways. It can be seen in the Bible as God or Jesus causing unbelievers to stumble in their ways and become saved, and it can also be seen as an experienced Christian causing a new Christian to act against their conscience; this offense can also be caused by the temptation of Satan (Youngblood, 923). These are the main ways that offense is used in the Bible as a way that causes someone to “stumble.”…

False teaching is a major theme and issue as well. There was a presence and popularity within the community of errant teaching that was vibrant enough to question the great commandment as expressed by Jesus and yet to maintain an influential place in the community. It was a teaching tailor-made for the time, for it allowed people to social climb and the exhibition of social snobbery. James took very hands on approach to this. The fall of man occurred due to temptation that Eve fell into inside the Garden of Eden. Although there were certain rules put in place and Eve ultimately knew what she should and should not do and temptation became too strong for her and she made a deliberate choice to pick an apple and share it with her husband Adam. Throughout my time in church and numerous sermons preached by Pastors I have formed an image in my head of the moment the fall of man occurred. As I have grown up I have come to realize that although the choice of one person changed the world we must remember that Eve was just an ordinary person who struggled with temptation from Satan. Fall of Man Theological Definition: The Bible provides many tools which can be utilized in our lives to avoid situations that we might find ourselves in which…
